Haiku on "Hour"

The hour has passed,
No more whining of fairness,
open your door for air.
Hour after hour flies,
Insightful thoughts burst like flood,
Time to a fresh start.
The hour is morning,
I've been awake for three hours now,
I enjoy writing.

  1. Haiku is a demanding form, but you have done well with it. Your triad of haiku really connects with me. I find I enjoy reading and writing haiku, especially strung together in stanzas like yours.

If you do not know the haiku of Richard Wright, you might check it out. I think it's beautiful, even if he is much better known for his prose, especially the novel Native Son.
